DeepX, Inc. is proud to announce the joint development of “GeoControl Roller,” a retrofittable autonomous operation system for vibratory rollers, in collaboration with Nishiken Kogyo.

■ Background and Objectives
Construction sites worldwide are facing severe labor shortages. In Japan, the industry is rapidly moving toward automation under the “i-Construction 2.0” initiative. Compaction work using vibratory rollers involves tedious, long-hour operations, yet demands high precision to ensure uniform quality. Our newly developed “GeoControl Roller” can be seamlessly retrofitted to existing vibratory rollers, significantly reducing manual labor and boosting site productivity with minimal investment.
■ Key Features
- Ease of Use: Designed for on-site simplicity, the system operates with just a start button after specifying the compaction area and the number of passes. Area specification linked to the roller’s position is also supported. Operators can smoothly switch between autonomous, remote, and manned operations as needed.
- Centimeter-Level Precision: Achieves highly accurate, centimeter-level construction within a GNSS-RTK environment.
- Multi-Layered Safety Measures: Ensures maximum safety through an emergency stop feature via the management system, a dedicated low-power wireless emergency stop button on an independent circuit, and an automatic stop function triggered when obstacles are in close proximity.

■ Use Cases
- Closed Environments (Plants, Racecourses, Landfills, etc.): Delivers maximum value for long-term use at stationary or restricted sites.
- Civil Engineering Sites: Currently utilized primarily in automated construction demonstration sites, with the long-term goal of widespread adoption across general civil engineering projects.
