DeepX Inc., in cooperation with the JRA Ritto Training Center, conducted a demonstration of an autonomous vibratory roller system on training tracks within the center. Through this demonstration, we confirmed that our system is applicable to track maintenance operations.
The JRA Ritto Training Center operates a total of seven training tracks, the maintenance and management of which require a significant number of personnel and heavy machinery. In recent years, labor shortages have increased the on-site burden associated with track maintenance, making this a growing challenge.
In this demonstration, using DeepX’s autonomous driving product “GeoControl Roller,” we verified that JRA staff were able to operate the autonomous driving system on both the wide wood-chip course and the narrow uphill wood-chip course after only one day of on-site installation and adjustment work.
Going forward, DeepX will work to establish track maintenance operations using this system and to expand the range of machinery compatible with the system, with the aim of deploying it at training tracks nationwide.
