In 2015, I completed my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, India. Then, I went on to a double Master’s in Automotive Engineering at Chalmers University of Engineering, Sweden and University of Stuttgart, Germany. The courses were focused on two areas namely internal combustion engines and vehicle dynamics. I got an opportunity to do a combined internship and master thesis at Volvo Buses, where I worked on evaluating ride comfort for autonomous city buses. This was my first practical exposure in the world of robotics and autonomous driving and I was part of the team which demostrated a straight ahead and single lane change autonomous bus stop docking at the Volvo Ocean Race in 2018. Later, I found a job in the Netherlands and worked as a Junior Sofware Engineer in the Integrated Vehicle Safety department at TNO. The major project I worked on was “Vehicle Platooning”, where I contributed in the areas of hardware interfacing, system integration and testing, health monitoring, tooling and vehicle following. Finally in December 2020, I joined DeepX.
Today the developed countries are in a unique position to leverage the possibilities that artificial intelligence has to offers in many fields. Currently, Japan is facing labour shortages due to a low birthrate and an ageing society. In the past, Japan has been able to achieve the highest productivity in the world and it still stands a fair chance to maintain and increase its productivity by adapting new technologies.
