Born in Ekaterinburg, Russia, I discovered my passion for mathematics at the age of 12. This interest led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, where I found a new fascination: computer vision. During my third year, I became an assistant researcher, eventually advancing to a researcher role at the Vision Systems Lab of the Institute for Information Transmission Problems. My research focused primarily on geometric and color aberration correction, with applications for smartphone cameras. This experience helped me deepen my understanding of image formation theory, color theory, and their connections to human vision.

In 2020, I moved to France to complete my Master’s degree at the University of Grenoble Alpes. My thesis, conducted at Inria, explored medical imaging segmentation. While this was an enriching experience, I realized that, although deep learning is a powerful tool in the field, I have a stronger preference for working with classical computer vision and algorithms.

The summer after finishing my Master’s, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Robotics Summer School at ETH Zurich. This experience introduced me to the fascinating world of robotics, and I decided to pursue a career in this field. I joined Evocargo LLC as a Computer Vision Engineer, eventually becoming the Lead of Sensors Calibration. Working in autonomous driving further fueled my passion for robotics and innovation.

In February 2024, I joined DeepX as a Computer Vision Engineer, eager to contribute to its vision and goals.

Interest

  • Improving visual data processing algorithms
  • Creating computer vision pipelines
  • Contributing my knowledge to the greater cause of solving the construction worker shortage

Personal

  • I love cooking, especially baking! Before coming to Japan, I always baked cakes for my friends’ and family’s birthdays and other celebrations. I hope to continue doing this, but first, I need to figure out where to put an oven in my Tokyo apartment...

  • My parents and I started skiing when I was just 5 years old, and thanks to living near the Ural Mountains, it became one of the biggest hobbies in our family. Living near the French Alps for two years was a blessing as well—my husband and I visited some of the best ski resorts in the world at least twice a month during the winter season. I’m looking forward to my first winter in Japan so we can explore the Japanese ski resorts too!
