Demonstration of Automated Excavation Through Open Innovation

On Wednesday, April 24th, a demonstration of automated construction using hydraulic excavators will be held at the Construction DX Experimental Field established within the Public Works Research Institute. The autonomous driving system used in the demonstration has been co-developed by DeepX, Fujita Corporation, and the Public Works Research Institute. Utilizing construction machinery provided by the OPERA construction technology platform maintained by the Public Works Research Institute—DeepX has developed the software for autonomous operation of hydraulic excavators. Following the demonstration, there will be a technical presentation and discussion on future prospects by DeepX. An exchange meeting with participants will also be held to discuss the social implementation of automated construction technologies in the future.
